Due to the forecasted weather for tomorrow Friday, 9 January and associated emergency warnings which include thunderstorms, high winds and elevated fire risk, Council have made the difficult decision to limit services in protection of community and council officers who would otherwise have been travelling to and accessing or delivering services in dangerous weather conditions.
What services are affected:
We appreciate that these closures impact our community and are not ideal, particularly for those utilising our Pools regularly to cool down, however considering the warnings that have been extended to our area and those around us, and the potential risks, this decision is in the best interests of our community.
In line with public health advice concerning extreme heat, we encourage our community to look out for neighbours, family and those around you (including pets) to stay safe, cool and protected.
Council is closely monitoring the changing conditions and remains committed to prioritising community safety and wellbeing.
