The Buloke Library Service is excited to present ‘Stig Live @ the Library’, a free author visit tour to schools in the Buloke local government area this December!
Bolinda digital and Buloke Libraries are proud to present this offer of a one-hour entertaining comedy workshop delivered by Stig Wemyss, Australia’s most loved narrator of audio books for children and young adults who will be visiting schools in Buloke as part of his tour.
The Buloke Library Service encourages all parents in our community to actively read to their children daily in order to foster a passion for reading. Parents can do this by engaging children to ask questions, especially at natural stopping points at the end of a sentence, page or chapter.
“Having a story at the end of the day becomes a treat, something to really look forward to that will engender a lifelong love of books and reading” Stig said.
Stig has recorded the work of Andy Griffiths, Paul Jennings, Tim Winton, Marcus Zusak, Margaret Clarke and most recently, Andrew Daddo. Stig is also a successful writer, with is own audio book series titled The Tripp Diaries.
‘Stig Live @ the Library’ has been performed in schools and libraries right around Australia, New Zealand and the UK. More information on Stig and his performances can be found on his website: https://www.stig.rocks/
The Buloke tour of ‘Stig Live @ the Library’ aims to promote the additional literacy benefits of audio books for children and young adults, as well as the free Buloke Digital Library which encourages greater inclusiveness and sustainability through our community libraries.
Stig will attend the following schools within Buloke: Charlton College P-12: Tuesday 5th December at 11.30-12.30pm Donald Primary School (with St Mary’s Primary School Donald) : Tuesday 5th December at 2-3pm St Mary’s Primary School Sea Lake: Wednesday 6th December at 12-1pm Tyrrell College P-12: Wednesday 6th December at 1.30-2.30pm Wycheproof College P-12: Thursday 7th December at 9.30-10.30am
