Standing for Council in Buloke Shire – Empowering Potential Leaders Publish Date: 24 July 2024
As the 2024 council elections approach, Buloke Shire Council is actively engaging with community members interested in taking on leadership roles through its 'Stand for Council Information Sessions'.
A recent session held at Wycheproof Shire Office drew a number of aspiring candidates eager to understand more about local government and becoming a Councillor. Participants were provided with an overview of Local Government, including the roles and expectations associated with serving as a Councillor, and insights into the Council electoral procedures.
CEO Wayne O’Toole said “Participating in local government is a chance to actively shape the future of our community. These information sessions provide valuable insights into the opportunities of serving as a councillor, and I encourage all those interested in making a difference to attend and learn more about the essential role of local government in shaping our future."
