Hardship Policy Is There If You Need

Hardship Policy Is There If You Need

Publish Date: 13 September 2021

It is a tough time, the likes of which we may not see again in our lifetimes. Ratepayers can apply to Council for assistance relating to any unpaid rates under Council's Rates and Charges Financial Hardship Policy.

Council’s Rates and Charges Financial Hardship Policy provides a number of options for ratepayers who are in genuine financial hardship to help manage liability.

The policy provides such options as deferment of rates and charges or the granting of a waiver of interest on rates or charges to ratepayers experiencing demonstrated financial hardship.

Ratepayers will start receiving notice soon, which are due for payment in full by 15 February 2022, additionally ratepayers can elect to pay by quarterly instalments.

We’re working to help ratepayers who are experiencing financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic or whatever life may be throwing at them.

You can view Council’s Rates and Charges Financial Hardship Policy at www.buloke.vic.gov.au/payment-difficulties.
