The state government has announced a major refurbishment and extension at Tyrrell College for the Sea Lake Kindergarten worth $1.152 million dollars.
Funded through the Children’s Facilities Program the upgrade will see an all-encompassing facility for Sea Lake’s youngest residents that includes Maternal and Child Health facilities, early years centre and provision for both three and four-year-old kindergarten.
“I’m delighted that Sea Lake Kindergarten is receiving funding to upgrade their facilities – ensuring Sea Lake children can continue to get the most out of their time at kinder and attend great local services.” said Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp MP.
Buloke Shire Council Mayor, Cr Carolyn Stewart was excited by the announcement whilst acknowledging more needs to be done for preschool children in rural areas.
“This is indeed fantastic news for the families of Sea Lake. To have another facility in Buloke to give our children the best possible start is outstanding. But more needs to be done to ensure every child in Buloke, and any rural area, has their best start in life. Council will continue to advocate so all children in Buloke have access to such services”.
