Stewart Returned As Mayor

Cr Carolyn Stewart has been elected unopposed as Mayor of Buloke Shire Council at a Statutory Meeting of Council held in Wycheproof.

Cr Stewart has been returned for her second term as Mayor.

Cr Stewart is in her first term as Councillor and has been a Buloke resident for around 20 years. A qualified accountant with an outstanding business and education background, Cr Stewart and her family also farm land in Buckrabanyule in the South East of the Shire.

Cr Stewart’s strong leadership has been the mark of her first term alongside her strong relationship building. Buloke Shire has continued to develop strong relationships with all levels of government and vital stakeholder and community groups.

“Thank you so much for the support from my fellow Councillors and thank you for being such a great team to work with. We have achieved so much in the last twelve months and beyond. I look forward to continuing to work with you all over the next twelve months to continue to deliver on the Council Plan for the rest of our term”, said Mayor Cr Stewart in acceptance.

Cr David Pollard has been elected, also unopposed, as Deputy Mayor replacing the outgoing Cr Warren who had served the last two terms as Deputy Mayor.

Both positions will be held until November 2020.

Council also adopted its meeting schedule for the coming Mayoral Year as well as appointing Council’s delegates for the coming year.
