Hogan Elected in Mallee Ward

Bernadette Hogan has been elected as the new Mallee Ward Councillor for Buloke Shire Council with results for the by-election announced on Friday 28 October 2022.

It is a return to Council duty for Councillor elect Hogan, who served as a Mallee Ward Councillor between 2005-2008 as well as having been a member of the Council’s Audit Committee.

Bernadette farms with her husband locally and she brings a strong skill set in accounting and business management. Campaigning on sustainability and liveability, she advocates for transparency and accountability in determining the equitable distribution of financial resources and services across all Buloke Shire communities.

The by-election result was delayed due to the devastating floods in the region, the situation also played its part in no candidates, including the successful candidate, being present in Wycheproof at the time of the Victorian Electoral Commission official ceremony to announce the result. 

Councillor elect Hogan will be take the oath of office on Wednesday 2 November 2022 ahead of a Councillor Briefing later that day.
