2026 Council Australia Day Awards
Each year Council recognises outstanding contributions to the community, whether through significant contributions over many years or remarkable achievements during the past year.
Award categories include:
- Citizen of the Year (for persons 25 years or older on 26 January 2026).
- Young Citizen of the Year (for persons aged 15 to 24 years on 26 January 2026).
- Community Event of the Year Award (Presented to the person/group who has staged the most outstanding community event during 2025).

The nomination closing date has been extended to 5:00 PM Friday 12 December 2025.
The awards will be presented at the 2026 Australia Day Buloke Awards on Thursday 22 January 2026.
