Australia Day Awards

Nominations are Open for 2024 Council Australia Day Awards 

Each year Council recognises outstanding contributions to the community by presenting the following awards for the whole of Buloke Shire.

  • Citizen of the Year  (for persons 25 years or older on 26 January 2024).
  • Young Citizen of the Year  (for persons aged 15 to 24 years on 26 January 2024).

The basic criterion for the awards in these two categories is persons who have made an outstanding contribution to the local community during the current year and/or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years.

  • Community Event of the Year Award (Presented to the person/group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year).

Nominations for these awards are now open and close 5:00pm Friday 24 November 2023.

Winners will be announced at our Australia Day Eve event to be held in Sea Lake on 25 January 2024.

Ella & Julie 2023 Australia Day Winners

  • Citizen of the Year Award Winners Each year Buloke Shire Council presents the Citizen of the Year Award to acknowledge personal endeavours and contributions towards the development and progress of local communities.
  • Young Citizen of the Year Award Winners Each year Buloke Shire Council presents the Young Citizen of the Year Award to acknowledge personal endeavours and contributions towards the development and progress of local communities by people aged 15-24 years.
  • Event of the Year Award Winners Each year Council presents the Event of the Year Award to the person/group who has staged the most outstanding community event during the year.
