If your home was damaged by the February 2024 Victorian storms and is not covered by insurance, clean-up support is available.
Emergency Relief Victoria (ERV) is extending support to community members in Buloke who were affected. Here's how ERV is assisting:
Registration for Hazardous Tree Removal:
You're eligible to register for hazardous tree removal if: - Your home or rental property is situated in one of the eligible council areas. - You reside in the home or had tenants with a formal rental agreement in place. - You lack adequate insurance coverage for damage caused by the February 2024 Victorian storms. - Hazardous trees on your property are directly attributable to the February 2024 Victorian storms and could potentially fall or shed branches within 30 meters of your home or main access point.
After registering: An ERV team member will contact you to finalise your registration and schedule a site inspection. A qualified contractor will then visit your property to assess the site and plan the necessary work. Trees will be removed only if they pose a direct risk to your home or access point. It's essential to communicate any specific concerns about your property early in the process.
Demolition of Storm-Damaged Homes:
You can register for demolition if: - Your home or rental property is in an eligible council area. - Your home was severely damaged beyond repair by the February 2024 Victorian storms and is uninsured or under-insured. - You reside in the home or had tenants with a formal rental agreement.
Note: The program does not cover partial demolition, rebuild, or repair work.
