Cr David Vis Resigns

Publish Date: 1 July 2022

Cr David Vis has written to CEO Wayne O’Toole informing him of his resignation from Council due to personal reasons, effective immediately.

Cr Vis was elected to Council in November 2016 in the Mallee Ward and was retuned in 2020.

Cr Vis, who had been on a Leave of Absence until 12 July 2022, had a vision to help make Buloke a thriving place to live and visit. David has been a passionate advocate for his local area, and for the growth of the wider Buloke region.

“Council yesterday received resignation from Cr David Vis. David was a passionate Councillor during his nearly six years on Council and is a very active member of the Sea Lake community, that always had the area’s growth at the centre of his approach. Council wishes David all the best in his future endeavours and thanks him for his service,” said Mayor Cr Daryl Warren.

CEO Wayne O’Toole has contacted the Victorian Electoral Commission informing them of Cr Vis’s resignation. The resignation creates a vacancy in the Mallee Ward and it is anticipated that a by-election will be held to elect a new Councillor in the ward.
