Strengthening governance and transparency

Council received a new Governance Report, noting records of Councillor briefings and assemblies, the Chief Executive Officer’s activity report, the status of Council resolutions, and a summary of the December 2025 Audit and Risk Committee meeting.

Council also authorised minor administrative amendments to the Building a Better Buloke 2040: Community Vision, including the formal inclusion of Council’s Acknowledgement of Country and professional design updates, ensuring the document accurately reflects Council’s values and intent.

Updated Social Media Policy

Council adopted an updated Social Media Policy, reflecting contemporary online engagement and the introduction of the Model Councillor Code of Conduct.

The revised policy provides clearer guidance for Councillors, staff, volunteers and contractors, supporting respectful, accurate and accountable use of social media while protecting Council’s integrity and reputation.

Financial and performance reporting

Council received and noted the Quarter 2 Organisational Performance Report and Quarter 2 Financial Report for the 2025/26 financial year, providing an update on Council’s operational performance, financial position and delivery of services and projects.

These contracts include road rehabilitation and flood protection infrastructure projects across the Shire, reinforcing Council’s ongoing commitment to recovery and community resilience.

Advocacy matters

Council considered two Notices of Motion, resolving to advocate to the Victorian Government for:

  • improved safety, access and design outcomes at the Sunshine Regional Link crossovers to better support local traffic movements, freight efficiency and community safety, and
