Permanent Full Time
from $92,000 annually, plus statutory superannuation 

Buloke Shire Council is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Team Leader Open Spaces to coordinate daily operations across parks, urban maintenance, waste services and community facilities. This hands-on leadership role supports high-quality service delivery while fostering a strong safety culture. 

In this role you will: 

• Lead and support staff across Urban, Parks, Waste and Environment operations

• Coordinate maintenance of parks, playgrounds, drainage, public amenities, aerodromes, landfills and transfer stations

• Plan and allocate staff, plant and equipment resources

• Promote and model safe work practices and ensure OH&S compliance

• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement control measures

• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation

• Respond to customer requests and service needs in a timely manner

• Coordinate temporary waste services for Council and community events

• Provide relief support to the Coordinator Open Spaces

• Participate in Council’s After-Hours Duty Officer roster 

To be successful in this role you will: 

• Hold a current Victorian Driver Licence

• Obtain a satisfactory National Police Records Check

• Demonstrate knowledge of drainage, parks, footpaths, kerb and channel, and public area maintenance

• Have experience inspecting playground equipment (or willingness to undertake training)

• Possess proven team leadership and employee management skills

• Show a strong understanding of OH&S requirements and safe work practices

• Demonstrate effective time management and priority-setting skills

• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Have strong MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)

• Hold or are willing to obtain a Construction Induction Card
