Records Assistant

Permanent Full Time - From $35.04 per hour plus superannuation

Buloke Shire Council is seeking a Records Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the Records team. This role ensures efficient management, registration, and retrieval of Council records while supporting smooth daily operations across the organisation.

 

In this role you will:

  • Assist Records Officers with filing and maintaining Council’s physical filing systems.
  • Support the registration and filing of hard copy records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate the receipt, registration, and distribution of daily mail to relevant Council staff.
  • Retrieve and provide access to active and non-active records as requested.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Records team.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have demonstrated experience in office administration and general administrative tasks.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Possess strong time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively within a team environment.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills for liaising with staff and responding to enquiries.
  • Experience in Local Government is preferred but not essential.
