Mandatory Candidate Training

Local Government Victoria and the Victorian Electoral Commission require people to meet certain eligibility criteria in order to become a council election candidate.  This includes undertaking a mandatory candidate training session provided by the Victorian Government.

Stand for Council - MAV

Hosted by the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV), there are two sessions which residents of Buloke Shire Council who are considering nominating as a candidate for the 2024 Council Election can attend in either person or online. These sessions will provide prospective candidates with information about the role and purpose of Local Government, the responsibilities and expectations of a Councillor, and the electoral process.

Session 1: Wednesday 17 July in Bendigo  
Session 2: Wednesday 7 August in Swan Hill
