To enable eligible residents to live independently at home by assisting with personal tasks that they are unable to perform on their own.

What services can be provided?

Our Independence Support Carers can offer practical support and assistance with a range of tasks including:

• assistance with showering
• assistance with dressing or grooming
• assistance with mobility

What happens if my Personal Care needs change?

Independence Support Carers are only permitted to attend to the tasks that have been assessed as required. If your needs change a reassessment/review will be necessary before staff are permitted to perform additional tasks.

Can Independence Support Carers complete nursing related tasks such as administering medication and dressings?

No.  If this type of care is required, contact the District Nursing program via the intake service with your local health service.
