Draft Revenue and Rates Strategy 2025–2029
Overview
The Draft Revenue and Rates Strategy 2025–2029 is currently on public exhibition and open for submissions.
It sets out how Buloke Shire Council will generate the income needed to deliver services and infrastructure to the community over the next four years.
The Draft Revenue and Rates Strategy 2025–2029 provides the framework for how Council calculates and collects rates and other revenue, ensuring a fair and equitable approach. It aligns with the Council Plan, Annual Budget, and Long-Term Financial Plan.
The strategy:
- Establishes Council’s approach to raising revenue from rates, fees, and charges
- Outlines how the cost of services will be shared between ratepayers and users
- Supports the delivery of Council’s strategic objectives
- Ensures compliance with legislation and transparency in revenue decisions
The Draft Revenue and Rates Strategy 2025–2029 ensures a balanced, sustainable financial model that enables Council to respond to community needs and priorities.

Submissions must be received in writing no later than 5pm on Thursday 29 May 2025 and can be provided in the following ways:
- Email to buloke@buloke.vic.gov.au
- In person by placing a submission in the box at the Wycheproof Customer Service Centre, 367 Broadway, Wycheproof.
- By mail addressed to the Buloke Shire Council, PO Box 1, Wycheproof, Victoria 3527.
Following the consultation and review period, the Draft Revenue and Rating Strategy 2025-29 is scheduled for adoption at the Council Meeting on Wednesday 18 June 2025.
