Project objective

The Aquatic Strategy is being developed to set out a 10 year strategic approach to aquatic infrastructure provision and activation in Buloke Shire.

Project background

The current Aquatic Strategy was completed in July 2014 and is due for review. The Aquatic strategy was listed as an action in the Council Plan 2021-2025 and Council, received funding support from Sport and Recreation Victoria to complete the Strategy. Buloke Shire Council has engaged Otium Planning Group to undertake the study.

Council operates 7 outdoor pools and offers free entry to the pools.

Project Timelines

  • January to February 2025 - Background Research and Analysis
  • February to March 2025 - Community and Stakeholder Engagement
  • March to April 2025- Facility and Pool Condition Assessment
  • April to May 2025 - Issues and Opportunities Analysis
  • May to June 2025 - Draft Strategy Report

How to Participate:

To participate in the development of the review, we are inviting residents, stakeholders, schools, swimming clubs and those who currently use or do not use the pools to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas via a survey and/or a conversation.

Feedback received will guide Council’s decision-making and investment priorities, ensuring Buloke’s aquatic facilities remain sustainable, accessible, and reflective of the community's needs and expectations.
