Pet Limitations

In residential areas, pet owners may keep two cats or two dogs in a house, or one cat or one dog in a unit. In rural areas up to six dogs may be kept, where they are exclusively for droving or drafting livestock.

Further information on the number of pets permitted in any one property is outlined in the table below.

If you would like to make an application to keep more than the permitted number of animals on your property, please complete the Application For Permit form and return it to Council for consideration.
