Have Your Say - Wycheproof Wetlands

Have Your Say - Wycheproof Wetlands

Buloke Shire Council is repurposing the GWMWater storages within the Wycheproof Recreation Reserve to create a wetland precinct which will feature spaces for public recreation including walking tracks, swimming, paddling and bird watching. It will utilise the existing town stormwater system to maintain the water level year round and will be a fantastic asset for the community.

Wetland Site Idea

A concept design was developed to establish the proposed lake and constructed wetland includes the following design features:

  • A shallow marsh area,
  • Inclusion of a beached area in the south-western corner,
  • Inclusion of a shallow area near the beach,
  • Walking and Cycling Track for community use.

An aerial view of the Wycheproof Wetlands space, with descriptions of what will be added to each space.

To understand more about the Wetlands Project, and how it will benefit the Buloke community, come along to an information session with the Project Manager, on Tuesday 23 November, from 4-6pm at the Wycheproof Football Clubrooms.

A full design report of the project will be made avaliable upon request.

Project Media Release can be found here.
