Birchip Park and Civic Precinct Master Plan Update 25 November.

The First Stage of Community Consultation for the Birchip Park and Civic Precinct Master Plan Project is Complete.

The project will review key community and civic facilities, including the Shire Office, Senior Citizens Building, old Shamrock Hotel, Public Hall, Soldiers Memorial Park (excluding swimming pool) to identify whether the current facilities are able to provide what the community wants and needs into the future and the costs associated with bringing these facilities up to standard.

We have held multiple Project Advisory Group meetings, a community survey, two listening posts, a four-session deliberative engagement process and two business case and design workshops with community representatives.

The feedback and ideas that have come from this process are currently being collated by the consultants, who will use the information to inform their draft plans. The next steps for the project team are to draw up draft concept plans, lifecycle costs and a business case. They will produce three options to be put forward to the community during the next stage of community consultation. The consultation is likely to commence in February 2022, following harvest and the holiday period.

The three options will be developed based on the feedback and ideas we have received from the Birchip community. These options will be flexible, allowing community members to consider the ideas and concepts and potentially suggest an alternative design.
